Spirit Level - Horizon Two Twenty Two
Here it is, my first random pick. And I’ve sort of lucked out. It’s something not too horrible…
I’ve no idea where this came from. I must have bought it in a record shop in Edinburgh when I was a student. The fact it’s something I can’t remember buying probably means that I bought it during the time I was getting paid £50 a week to DJ in the back room of some dodgy disco club. We’d play the same few trashy funk / soul / hip hop / acid jazz records week after week, then go and spend our money on things we liked a bit better but would never get to play out.
I’ve got a feeling this must have been from one of those trips to the record shop where the guy saw a naive English guy come in who didn’t really know all that much, and used it as a chance to offload some dodgy German stuff from the distributor.
This hints at a pocket of pseudo-hippy ambient trance bollocks in my record collection. Watch out.
